League of Legends Day 3 tutorial How to add friends, chat, and navigate options

If you've been keeping up with the blog so far, you should have leveled up a tad and gotten to the point where you have even more questions like: How do I add friends? How do I join a game? How can I contact some one out side of the game? What are honor points? Why don't I have a Champion yet I can still play? How can I stop harassment? Yea hopefully not that last one!

First off lets start by showing you the friend options. If some one worked well with you they may have already added you and you would have had to accept in a pop up window, but you still don't know how they did that. In this picture you can see I've pressed the bottom friend button and the side bar opened up. You can select the search for friends option, or look at people you have recently played with. When looking at a list of players that are not your friends, you may right click and add them, invite them to chat, or request a rematch. You may even block some one that is not playing friendly. The advantage to adding friends you work well with is knowing those people will give you an upthumb vote at the end of the game or "honor" and you get points for that on your profile.

The second tab at the bottom is the proper way to start or find a chat but you may also right click to send a message to some one. Often when you join a group game, a group chat will open, but these are private for you and one other person unless you start a group chat your self.

Last is the third tab. This is your notifications, some one added you, some one invited you to a game, or gave you something. You should click here often, because you don't want to ignore a game invite and leave your friends hanging. Unfortunately this game does not have head set interaction so you will have to rely on these chat options and your friends replying in a timely manner.

Now, why don't I have a champion? You have to buy your champion just like you do every thing else. However even the cheapest champion cost way more than you probably have. Even after you finally buy one, you are tasked with the custom skin and extras to go with it. So get back in the arena and keep on fighting! The more wins, the more points. All the more reason to add the guys you do really well with because , trust me, if you are on a loosing streak, you are doing it wrong. ;) This Champion is my favorite and I plan to buy her and this skin, I'm sure you can guess why..

I also love dragons, and christina with the bow and arrow... rawr... We'll see!
